CALGARY, May 8th, 2023 – Dr. Nancy Nixon, a medical oncologist at Tom Baker Cancer Centre and the Southern Alberta Tumour Team Lead, and Zamplo Inc., an Alberta-based social enterprise, announced the launch of a new patient support platform, Alberta Metastatic Breast Cancer (mBC) Support Platform, powered by the Zamplo App. The support platform was launched at the Alberta Breast Tumour Meeting on May 4th, 2023.

The platform has been co-designed by metastatic breast cancer patients and Dr. Nixon using the Zamplo App. The Alberta mBC Support Platform allows individuals living with mBC and their caregivers to track health information, such as medications and symptoms, prepare for appointments, and view their whole health journey. Through the platform, individuals can access credible and relevant health information and connect with others living with mBC.

The Support Platform aims to improve decision-making and care for patients with metastatic breast cancer by helping those living with mBC access a free resource to help them improve their quality of life.

The Alberta mBC Support Platform is free for individuals living with mBC and their caregivers, and is available on iOS, Android and the Web. Individuals can sign up by visiting https://www.zamplo.org/mbc

About Zamplo Inc.

Zamplo Inc. was co-founded in 2015 based on CEO Shaneel Pathak's lived experience as a cancer caregiver to his late wife, who was diagnosed with metastatic lung cancer.

The Zamplo App is Zamplo Inc.’s Alberta-based health platform, which was launched in 2020 thanks to the support and contributions from Alberta Cancer Foundation's donors. The app empowers individuals to track, analyze and share their health data and journey with caregivers, health providers, patient advocates and others of their choosing. Individuals can remotely document their health journey, including symptoms, activities, and health data, using a desktop or mobile device. It also includes a Health Library, Community functionality to connect with peers, and a Clinical Trials search.

With informed consent, the Zamplo App can also be used for patient support programs and to collect and share patient-reported outcomes data between research participants and researchers through an integration with Zamplo Inc.’s electronic data capture platform, Zamplo Research.
