The M.A.G.I.C Clinic's G.R.I.T study
What is the M.A.G.I.C Clinic and what is the purpose of the study?
The Metabolics and Genetics in Calgary Clinic is the largest clinic in Alberta that manages metabolic diseases. The M.A.G.I.C Clinic has teamed up with Zamplo on the Getting Global Rare disease Insights through Technology study for metabolic disorders.
The purpose of the G.R.I.T study is to see if using an app such as Zamplo can help patients stay engaged in their healthcare treatment and see how the app can help physicians treat patients.

They too can easily scan, enter and manage your health care information.
Invite a member from your Careteam
Instead of telling your story over and over again, invite a member of your Careteam to contribute, manage and view your health care information.
You control the level of access of your Caregivers and the members of your Careteam.
Graph your health data
Throughout any health journey, patients and caregivers collect overwhelming amounts of health data and information.

Before your next appointment, create a report to summarize the information in your journal entries to provide a snapshot of your symptoms, medications, health data, treatment regime, and questions.

“Sarah and I have been caring for our son Evan (16) for 12 years, who became severely disabled at age 4 as a result of mitochondrial disease and have struggled to keep all his medical information together as well as track symptoms. It is often overwhelming as a caregiver of a child with complex special needs to keep track of all the pieces.
Zamplo is an effective tool that can now be that one central place to do all this, including all contact details for Evan’s medical care team, medications and doses, appointment schedules, etc. Using this app, I feel we are doing a better job of keeping on top of Evan’s care.”
– Evan’s Dad, Blaine Penny
