When it comes to tracking your health, it's important to reflect on what you already do that benefits your health. Finding this initial foundation will help you decide what you want to track, what goals to set, and what habits you may have already developed for your health.

Tracking your health doesn't have to be a daunting task that takes up a lot of time during the day. It can be as simple as logging that you got 8 hours of sleep that night or have had enough water for that day. Other examples of things you might already do that you can track may include:

  • Going for walks
  • Taking supplements
  • Visiting friends or family
  • Gardening
  • Journaling

Now that you have the insights of what you already do that you can track, it's time to think about what else you want to track. At this step, it's important to consider what your goals are when it comes to your health. Some examples of what you may consider tracking can include:

  • Working out three times a week
  • Tracking new medications
  • Meeting with a nutritionist once a month
  • Starting your day with yoga

What everyone decides to track will look different based on what their goals are. Remember, people will be at different stages in their health journey, and one person's health journey is not more or less important than another's. Now you have a base understanding at this point of what you want to track and what your goals are. So how do we actually start tracking? There are two methods we can use to start, and this will depend on how often you want to be tracking.

  1. For tracking that will occur regularly, you will start by creating routines
  2. For tracking that will occur once in a while, you will start by creating a journal

For now, let's start with tracking that will occur at regular intervals. The video to the left is an example of if you wanted to track yoga in the morning. However, the process will be the same for any routine you want to create. To read more about incorporating Zamplo into your daily routine, click here.

Make sure to set reminders for your routines so that you never forget!

The second way to track your health is to complete a journal entry for when you need to track something once in a while. This option is ideal for tracking vaccines, lab results, doctor appointments, or anything else that doesn't occur at a regular interval.

The video on the right shows how you can complete a journal entry for a vaccine.

Tracking your health can allow you to create graphs that help you better understand your health by visualizing correlations between health data points.
